About Us

Shantelle Moxie has worked as a children’s psychotherapist for over 15 years, specializing in the treatment of child sexual abuse.  During her practice, she worked with over a hundred children-most of which were girls.  She developed a unique style of treatment which incorporated healing and empowerment through creative play.  Shantelle’s primary goal was to instill in her clients that despite their horrendous experiences, they had the power to reclaim their lives and their bodies, and create a wonderful future.

When Shantelle decided to transition into another career, she wanted to continue her commitment to empowering young girls, while incorporating her other passion-tea parties. As a result, SpecialTea Parties was born.  SpecialTea Parties offers elegant and upscale tea parties, designed to illicit imagination, creativity, and fun in children.  This all-inclusive, mobile tea party service offers parents a hassle-free party experience, that
they can enjoy along with their children.

But name “SpecialTea” is more than just a play on words.  Shantelle wants each child that attends her parties to feel beautiful and special, if only for one day.  Shantelle’s background as a children’s psychotherapist provides party attendees with an experience unlike any other children’s party company.  She and her highly trained staff bring a combination of patience, warmth, enthusiasm and a genuine love for children to every event.

In 2008, Shantelle was inspired to create a program that focused on teaching skills on manners and respect that could empower girls to reach their full potential.  Relying on her background in children’s psychotherapy and early childhood education, Shantelle created a program that offers a modern approach to etiquette.  G.L.A.M. (Girls Learning About Manners) is an etiquette program that makes children feel excited about learning about manners through fun, girly themes.  Seeing a need for etiquette training for young boys as well, she created Mad About Manners (M.A.M.).
